Coaches


Amy Ireland
Amy has been involved with coaching juniors since she ended her racing career in 1995. She has coached in Massachusetts with the CSU program and has been a coach for the Massachusetts state team at Eastern High School championships and the J2 Festivals. She was also Head coach for the Boulder Nordic Club in Colorado and was on the Colorado Junior National team staff. Before starting her coaching career Amy skied for the University of Colorado where she was a member of the National championship team, and was the team captain for two years. During her college career Amy skied at the U.S. olympic trials, NCAA championships and races throughout the country. After college Amy continued skiing competitively on the national Marathon circuit and was a member of the Rossignal/Pearlizumi racing team. As the sole female on the coaching staff Amy brings unique strengths to this superb coaching team. Contact Amy

Rob Bradlee
Rob Bradlee started ski racing at Belmont Hill School in 1972. He continued racing on the Harvard Ski Team, and has raced ever since competing in U.S. Senior Nationals and National Masters competition where he has been a multiple silver medallist. Rob is a certified Level II NENSA coach, and a frequent coach for the Massachusetts state team for the NENSA J2 Festival and Eastern High School Championships. Rob is also a member of the Toko Technical Team that promotes and supports Toko ski wax. Rob's coaching philosophy focuses on a mix of year-round fitness development and a perfecting technique. He attends camps every summer to stay current with the latest technique. Contact Rob

Jamie Doucett
Jamie Doucett came to skiing with a swimming and running background (2:28 marathon). Jamie is an active masters racer and has been coaching Bill Koch League and high school age skiers for the past 10 years. Contact Jamie

Bob Haydock
Bob Haydock is a certified Level II NENSA coach and has coached Bill Koch League skiers for ten years and junior skiers for four. Bob started ski and biathlon racing in the late 1970s. Some of his results include a 26th place at the 1984 Biathlon Olympic Trials, 26th place 1984 American Birkebeiner, and 1998 10 Km classical national age group champion. Bob also has a competitive running (2:33 marathon) and bike racing background. He maintains 12 km of trails in Pomfret Vermont where he holds the VOmax Bogburn ski race. He has been on the NENSA board of directors since its inception. He organizes many of the junior program activities, and is the author of this website. Contact Bob

Frank Feist
Frank Feist is a former member of the German junior national team in nordic combined and the German student national team in XC skiing. Frank competed in hundreds of local and international XC ski races and ski jumping events in the 1980s. He still loves the sport and races occasionally with a preference for the classic technique. His focus in coaching is to teach time saving "tricks of the trade" such as downhill speed, transitions, taking advantage of terrain, and race tactics. His overall goal is to help young racers develop critical independent judgment and self-responsible attitude. Contact Frank
